My (protein) Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Yard

Throughout my Shaun T adventures, I’ve been rigorously drinking so-called ‘recovery’ shakes and reading about whey protein. Now, Mr T recommends a particular brand but on doing some research, most recovery drinks pretty much contain some form of whey protein.

I think this means all of them will ultimately do the same thing, one way or another.

I’m currently using the Maximuscle Promax Lean protein powder. It’s not the cheapest product on the market, but it contains a blend of whey proteins which is great as I don’t have a clue about how to choose between the different types!

Every day, post-workout, I blend 2 scoops of Promax Lean banana flavour with ice cold water and half a banana (it took a little experimentation to optimise the flavour) and voilà! I have a surprisingly delicious and frothy milkshake to enjoy after a hard workout. Plus, it helps me develop lean, strong muscle tissue and reduce muscle soreness.

Today, I added raspberries and blueberries because I fancied drinking something the colour of Pepto-Bismol (and for a vitamin and antioxidant boost).
